To Love So Much It Hurts

This blog is dedicated to my oldest baby Rhylan! I never knew that it was possible to love someone so much it hurts! He makes Michael and I so proud every single day. We just know that he will be an incredible big brother and love having playmates! He asked for a sibling and was blessed with TWO!  For Easter, he received a bike from his grandparents and he couldn't wait to take off! He was so determined and his eyes lit up with excitement. I just can't wait for him to teach his siblings all that he knows about being a kid.  It seems like he has grown so much lately that it's crazy! Age three has been an absolute whirlwind so far! He is speaking in full sentences now, doesn't miss a thing and will point out shapes and colors everywhere we go. Now that the weather is nice, he can't wait to get outside and we have to drag him in when the sun goes down.  His favorite bedtime story is The Very Hungry Caterpillar and I look forward to our nightly cuddle sessions whi

Hi Babies

Rhylan is so excited to be a big brother! He talks to them every day. He comes up to my belly and shouts "Hi babies! I'm your big brother!" and sometimes he will say "Can't wait to see you!" I just know that he is going to be an incredible big brother and he will be so excited to have new playmates when they get older.  Sometimes I just stand and watch him playing in the yard by himself, swinging, building sand castles, driving his tractor around and I just can't help but feel a little sad that he doesn't have a playmate. So knowing that these twins are coming makes me so excited! Someday, though chaotic, I can't wait to have three kiddos running through the house having fun!  Rhylan also thinks that he can see them through my belly button! He squints one eye and peers into my belly button like it's a little window! It's the cutest thing ever! Even though he can't see them, he sure likes to pretend he can.  When the babies are b

Ask And You Shall Receive

Out of all of the cribs in America, the one I am after has been discontinued! Before Rhylan was born, I purchased a beautiful cherry wood, camel-back crib with the matching dresser. It was pretty pricey, but very high quality. After all, kids tend to have nicer furniture than the parents, right?  I went back to Babies R Us recently to buy another one, because I want my babies to have matching beds and of course, it has been discontinued. I realize it's been 3 years, but several of the same cribs were still there!  I got online and spent HOURS trying to locate this crib! I went through every site on every page of Google only to find that it was a lost cause! I'm sure some people probably wouldn't make a big deal out of their kids' furniture matching, but anyone who knows me knows that I can be a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to decor, so I was determined! I decided to just throw in the towel and come to terms with the fact that I was not going to

Two For The Price Of...

Announcing twins brings on the saying "two for the price of one!" All I can say is that is definitely not the case! Let's just break this down!  **Two Cribs  **Two Car seats  **Two Sets of Clothes (if different genders)  **Two High Chairs **Double strollers vs Single Strollers **Double the diapers **Double the formula **Double the baby food  **Plus anything else that each baby will need We received our bill from the first appointment and let me just say, the "two for one" assumption is absolutely false! They charged us an extra $237 to spot the second baby. That's all they did and it costs $237! The first line said Ultrasound - Single Fetus $475 followed by Additional Fetus $237. Really? They didn't do anything but say "oh there's a second baby!"  Makes me very apprehensive for the bills to come. Are they going to charge us double to deliver a second baby? I know that once our little bundles arrive, none of thi

Who Knew?

The other night, I was really looking forward to the healthy and delicious dinner that I was preparing. I made a Baked Chicken, Asparagus, Red Potato and Tomato casserole. It was a clean eating recipe and it was very good. One of the main ingredients in the casserole was basil. I put almost a cup of basil into the mixture before baking it.  About half-way through dinner, my stomach started to hurt. Normally a little pain doesn't bother me, but this was no ordinary pain. I left the table and laid in bed. The pain kept coming in waves for about twenty minutes or so. It felt like little contractions. Being only just barely into the second trimester, this was definitely scary to experience. I just held my stomach and tried to deal with the pains.  Michael was really worried and I was about to say that we needed to head to the emergency room to make sure everything was okay with our babies. The pain finally subsided and I started to feel better. But what on earth caused this to happ

We Won't Forget You!

We had our second appointment and ultrasound yesterday and it was a complete turn around from the first appointment! I walked in so excited to see our babies! We started with an ultrasound so that they could measure the babies and check for placentas and sacs. Good news! Each baby has their own sac and their own placenta. This brings the risk factor way down, because each baby has their own source of nourishment and blood flow. This was great news!  Each baby is approximately 8 cm long and their heartbeats measured the same! We were just in awe of how much they have progressed from 10 weeks to 14 weeks! It's just amazing! They looked perfect and we couldn't be more thrilled! They couldn't print out pictures for this ultrasound, but we did take some on our phones.  We did find out Baby B's gender, but we are not going to tell! Baby A was a stubborn little one and the ultrasound tech was unable to confirm, but she said "off the record" what both Baby A
