31 Weeks

Babies Are The Size Of:  We find out weights on August 11th. But I'm guessing approaching the 4 pound mark!  Maternity Clothes:  Dresses, capris, shorts and tanks!  Stretch Marks:  Not too many that are noticeable. But I still have time!  Sleep:  I've had a few really deep nights of sleep! I don't know if it's my body's way of gearing up for this experience, but it's nice!  Belly Button:  Outie Feeling:  I'm really starting to slow down (as stubborn as I am). My belly is getting very heavy feeling, I'm super tired and get really short of breath. Also loving this mild summer we've had. Super thankful for that!  Symptoms:  Rib pains on the right side, tiredness, shortness of breath and those lovely, Braxton Hicks contractions usually 6 or more times a day! Feeling really heavy overall.  Missing Anything? Being able to clean my house at my Crystal rate of speed! Now it takes me so much longer, because I get really tired or my feet swell.  Mo

30 Weeks

Babies Are The Size Of:  Over 3 lbs each! We won't know the new weights until our next growth ultrasound in two weeks.  Maternity Clothes:  Dresses, capris, shorts and tanks!  Stretch Marks:  In the beginning stages, but doing pretty well for 30 weeks with two! Sleep:  Not sleeping very well anymore. I always feel like I'm crushing one of the babies and it's getting hard to maneuver, roll over and get comfortable. Plus having a 3 year old snuggling up to you makes it even more difficult!  Belly Button:  Outie Feeling:  My energy levels are dropping, but I'm still going even if it's slowly but surely! Symptoms:  Rib pains on the right side, tiredness, shortness of breath and those lovely, Braxton Hicks contractions usually 6 or more times a day! Missing Anything?  Really wanting a caesar salad, but can't because it contains raw eggs. Coffee smells good again and I can't wait to have my morning cups in the coming months! Baby Shower #1

This is a shout out to everyone who made our first baby shower so wonderful! My girls are so lucky to have so many people that already love them! We are truly blessed to have family and friends who have been so incredibly generous and thoughtful. We definitely don't expect a lot and we are just blown away!  Thank you to my Mom, Sister and Aunt Cathy for working together on such an amazing shower and to everyone who came to celebrate! It was small with close friends and family and I wouldn't want it any other way. One thing is for sure; my girls are going to be little fashionistas and we will never have a shortage of hair bows! And anyone who knows me, knows my obsession with Baby Magic soaps and lotion! I'm pretty sure we are now stocked up for years! After the shower, we feel so much more prepared and have a good idea of what is left to purchase before the girls arrive. We are so close to being ready!    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!  From the bottom of

29 Weeks

Babies Are The Size Of:  Baby A weighs 3 lbs 6 oz and Baby B weighs 2 lbs 13 oz! Can't believe I have six pounds of babies in there!  Maternity Clothes:  Dresses, capris, shorts and tanks! Love them!  Stretch Marks:  In the beginning stages! Unfortunately the odds of making it through a twin pregnancy stretch mark free are pretty slim! But in my opinion, they are more than worth it!  Sleep:  Lots of tossing and turning and getting comfortable is a struggle. Feeling tired more often than not. And I've been awakened by horrible leg cramps! Ouch! Belly Button:  Outie Feeling:  Sleepy and excited at the same time!  Symptoms:  Rib pains on the right side, tiredness, shortness of breath and those lovely, unpredictably Braxton Hicks just keep on coming from day to day! Missing Anything?  Did I mention that Lime-a-Ritas now come in glass bottles? Missing my favorite summer cocktails for sure!  Movement:  Moving all of the time and it's fun to watch my belly going crazy!

A Monday Adventure

Yesterday marked the first of many weekly visits until I deliver these little girls. Every Monday from now until I deliver, I have to undergo a non-stress test, ultrasound and check-up. Sounds easy, right? That is unless the babies decide to be uncooperative, which in my case, they did. The non-stress test took an hour and a half, because the nurse was unable to pinpoint their exact locations. Baby A kept hiding in my back and kicking the monitors! Orney little thing she is! Baby B who is normally my difficult little mover, was very cooperative though! I normally wouldn't complain and I try to be patient, but laying down on my back is the worst! If I do it for too long, I get really hot, sweaty and fuzzy feeling, almost like feeling faint. I was finally able to roll over onto my right side and both girls must've liked that, because the rest of the test was a breeze!  Next I had to head to the clinic for a growth ultrasound. Because the measurements were so specific, the babie

Never Take For Granted

Lately I've been incredibly apprehensive about the childcare arrangement for our girls. Initially when we announced our pregnancy, my Grandma decided to announce her retirement and watch my kids. How awesome is that? Well that's before we found out the shocker of TWO babies! Two babies is more than she ever bargained for and I have been so worried that she wouldn't be up to the task. Approaching the 30 week mark has really got me thinking, so I decided to have a discussion with her about it.  I brought up the issue and asked for her honest feedback. I explained to her how much we love her and would never want to burden her or make her feel like she is stuck in the situation. To which her response was, "Are you kidding? I can't wait!" She said she's been bragging to the girls at work about her new job! Huge sigh of relief!  I let her know that if at any time, she ever feels too overwhelmed with everything, then we will come up with a plan B and that s

28 Weeks

Babies Are The Size Of:  Over 2 lbs each and rapidly growing! Maternity Clothes:  Dresses are my friend lately! It's HOT!  Stretch Marks: None, but starting to get some on my sides, which happened last time from everything pulling forward.  Sleep:  I'm not sleeping that great anymore, between having to stay on my side, bathroom breaks and baby kicks! Belly Button:  I'd say that I officially have an outie!  Feeling:  My biggest complaint is rib pain on the right side, but I'm feeling pretty good otherwise!  Symptoms:  Irritability with people, shortness of breath, ligament pains, Braxton Hicks here and there, plus just overall HOT! Missing Anything?  Holding Rhylan, Gym Time and COFFEE! Movement:  Tons of movement! My little girls are active! Anything Making You Queasy or Sick?  Sometimes what I'm eating will sound good initially and then make me feel sick.  Cravings:  Eggless cookie dough (bad I know, but I only had a couple spoonfuls)!  Wedding Ring

Are They Ready To Come Out Yet?

Having a long holiday weekend made for a lot of extra time to spend on nursery prep! Everything has been painted, the cribs are up and everything is sorted and organized! After our showers, we'll be able to fill everything in and we will be officially ready for our new additions!  Now that the room is functional and livable, Rhylan responded with, "Mommy, are the babies ready to come out now?" I had to explain to him that they are definitely not ready to leave mommy's tummy yet, but if they decide to surprise us, then we will be ready for them. He then said, "Can I play with the babies when they come over?" I told him that they won't be very playful for a while, but he will get to love on them lots and lots. He seems like he is getting so excited for his siblings. And I seriously cannot wait to see the look on his face when he first meets them.  Approaching 28 weeks is a crazy feeling! It's reassuring now, because if they do happen to come early,

27 Weeks...Hello 3rd Trimester!

Babies Are The Size Of:  Approaching 2 lbs each and 15 inches long!  Maternity Clothes:  Proud to still be fitting in the original maternity wear that I purchased! And thanks to Erin for lending me some of hers!  Stretch Marks:  None; my belly is super smooth right now! Sleep:  I am definitely waking up more frequently, either from both girls kicking like crazy, bathroom breaks or just overall uncomfortable! Belly Button:  Non-existent; not sure if it will pop! My belly button never popped with Rhylan! Feeling:  I've had my good and bad days recently. My energy levels drastically change from one minute to the next and I have had some nausea lately. Symptoms:  Shortness of breath, ligament pains, Braxton Hicks here and there plus just overall HOT! Missing Anything?  Holding Rhylan Movement: They move so much! I almost always feel them. I was told in the beginning that I probably wouldn't feel them like a single pregnancy and boy is that incorrect! I feel way more movemen

Venturing into a Whole New World (of Cloth Diapering)!

Expecting twins has really got me thinking about the everyday costs of raising babies. Diapers, baby food, formula, clothes, doctor's visits and the list goes on and on! But don't get me wrong, we cannot wait to meet these little girls and we know that no matter what life throws at us, God obviously thought we could handle this new journey.  Well one thing I never thought I would consider is cloth diapering. When I think of cloth diapering, I think of the "old school" burp cloths folded up and pinned together. Ya know, what our parents probably used to do at some point in time. My how things have changed! Something told me to check it out. I used to swear by disposables, for the convenience, never even considering the cost.  I decided to take to social media to get opinions and I was shocked at how many of my momma friends use cloth diapering. Not only do they use cloth diapers, but they love it and swear by it! This really got me thinking! So away I went research
