Needless to say, 2014 has been a whirlwind experience starting on that morning in March when our whole world was rocked with the news that twins were in our future. As I approach the end of this pregnancy, I just want to say thank you to so many!
My wonderful husband Michael, who is the rock that keeps me sane. I'm sure I've driven him crazy over the past 9 months and he has handled it so well. I couldn't imagine a better man to stand by my side and be the father to our children. I'm sure he will never forget the shock that we experienced on the day the doctor found two babies and the level five meltdown that his wife who "always has it together" had. I will never forget the expression on his face! I can't wait to see how he acts with two daughters in our family!
My Mom, who is my best friend and who has been nothing but supportive of me and my family. Being a grandma brings her an incredible amount of joy and she is an amazing one at that! She was also present during my level five doctor's office meltdown and she was nothing but ecstatic. I'm thrilled to include her in this entire process and for her to be present when our babies enter the world. I can't thank her enough for her generosity toward my little family and her love for Michael and I as well as our kids.
My son Rhylan who will be the best big brother! He's kept a smile on this face just by being himself. I've loved our little dates together and will continue to make time for those once we've adjusted to having the girls! I just know that he will be in awe of his new sisters. He asks every single day if it's time for them to come out. And he also misses momma snuggles! I miss them too and cannot wait to be able to pick him up and hold him close without a big belly getting in the way. People wondered if he would comprehend what's going on and I have absolutely zero doubt in my mind that he gets it. I'm so proud of that little boy!
My friends and family have been absolutely incredible! They have been so encouraging throughout this experience and have had so much faith in my ability to take on this new, exciting challenge. Though I can't name all of you individually (I could, but it would be pages long), I just want to sincerely thank you! You know who you are!
My co-workers (aka Melrose family), thank you all for being there for me each and every day over the past 9 months. I feel so lucky to have your kindness, excitement and support and I cannot wait until you meet my girls. I'm glad that I could keep you all entertained with my chaos!
To those who have followed this journey through social media, WOW! I am so grateful and blown away by the outpouring of positivity, kind words and support. It took a lot for me to put myself out there like that and I'm not usually one to share my life-story on social media, but if I have impacted anyone from moms-to-be, twin moms, any mothers really, friends and family, then I have accomplished my goal.
To those who have said anything negative to me about twins or my pregnancy, I also want to thank you. As crazy as it sounds, you also helped to motivate me to take care of myself and hold my head high with the goal of a healthy pregnancy and two beautiful, healthy girls. You never brought me down and I hope that one day you will find happiness in yourself.
As this part of our twin journey comes to an end, I feel incredibly blessed by the outpouring of support that we have experienced. I look forward to sharing my new life experiences as a mom of three in the coming months! After tomorrow, I am officially on maternity leave!
I've loved having the opportunity to follow you on Facebook and here. So glad I got to meet you through our crazy, yet short-lived TV life. You'll do great at this twin thing! You got this ggiirrlll!
